In 1989 Mick Anderson first opened Andersons Tyres. In the process he became Colchester's pioneering salesman for 'Part Worn' tyres. In the intervening 18 years the company, still located in Hawkins Road, has undergone a gradual change. Building on the 'core' part worn business they have added the sale of New Tyres, Brake Repairs, Batteries and Alloy wheels to their expanding repertoire. Mick trades from ' Modest' but 'Smart' premises of approx 1300 sq ft. Future plans are for the controlled growth of the new tyre business (now accounting for over 50% of unit volume), so joining the GT partner scheme was a logical move which has strengthened the already successful relationship with their local GT Member - W.J. Wood & Son. |
